Apica Synthetic Monitoring (ASM) is a fully browser-based application, which means that real browser metrics are being measured when a website application is being rendered within a selected browser. This means that all standard browser functions are being run and measured. For example, a JavaScript file is not just being requested and downloaded; it is being run within the browser, and any actions that script may do, like request another file or ad, will be carried out.

This is fundamentally different from a load testing scenario where the JS asset will be simply requested and the speed of the downloaded JS file will be measured, but not the execution of the JS code.

Use ASM whenever the full User Experience (UX) is needed.
